Today Calvin kept asking us to cuddle with imaginary porcupines. We did this over and over during dinner, and then after a while he gave us "softypines" so we wouldn't get poked. We're not sure where he picked up the idea of cuddling porcupines, but it is very similar to the game where he says "Fire... BURN!" as he throws imaginary fire at us. Popular variants include "Stove... BURN!" and "Beach water... COLD!"
Lately, he also enjoys saying "Daddy has whiskers just like Michael Finnigan has whiskers."
