The other morning, Erin came up to me and asked me where the sink stopper was. I said "I don't know, I didn't know it was missing" I hadn't touched it for weeks. She told me that she dropped the toothpaste cap down the sink.
Neither of us remember moving the sink stopper. It was just gone. We looked on the floor, behind the washer, in the shower, in the cupboards, under the sink, in the trash can. It was just gone. Two days it was missing, nowhere to be found.
Last night I came home from work and found a note that Erin left on the table. It said "Where in the world did you find that sink stopper?? Thanks!"
I didn't find the sink stopper. I hadn't seen it since it got lost. I thought Erin was pulling my leg, but she swears it was just on the counter when she got home from school. We know it wasn't on the counter before because we cleaned everything off of it looking for the darn thing. And it was wet when I found it. Hmmm.... Erin didn't use it last night, why would it be wet? It's an unsolved mystery.

That is a really funny story. Sometimes I can't find things around my house and I usually think I am going crazy. When I finally start yelling like Dad "Hector, where's the..." I finally find it.
Maybe your neighbors needed an extra for a few days?
