Pictures

Brian found the Camera cord!  We keep forgetting to take pictures, but we have a few.  In our last post, Brian mentioned some trees that look like the Trufula trees in "The Lorax".

We don't have very many good beach pictures, but here are the ones that we do have.  Calvin is afraid of the Ocean, because it is loud and it moves fast.  He will NOT go in, and he whines when Brian or I go in.  He says, "I want (mommy or daddy, depending on who's in) to get out!"  He really enjoys the sand though.  He will play in that stuff forever.  I cannot get it out of his ears.  I think I get it out, and an hour later I find more sand in his ears.

Crafts help me relax.  The past few months have been pretty stressful for us, mainly because my morning sickness turned our lives upside down, but also because of the move and all that comes with that.  Now that the house is unpacked, I've been able to do some fun crafts.  Fall, as many of you know, is my FAVORITE time of the year, and we don't get one here!  Because of that, I'm trying to make it look like fall inside our apartment.  I made some pumpkins that I think are pretty. I just got some foam pumpkins from JoAnns for 50% off and then I cut the stems off, wrapped the pumpkins in yarn, glueing where it needed to be held better, and then I glued the stems back on.

I have been wanting to make this wreath since March, but I wasn't sure what our apartment was going to look like, so I've been waiting on it.  I started working on it the other day.  Mine will be brown, and without the picture frame.  I've also wanted to start doing "projects" with Calvin, especially since he's been ignored since June.  He has liked monsters lately, so here we found some supplies I already had in my craft box and made a few monsters.  He is mostly interested in the eyes, and has already pulled them off of the picture we made.

I want to put pictures of the apartment up, but I kind of want to get the walls decorated before I do it, but I do have pictures of the kitchen.

This is looking into the kitchen from the living room.

This is Calvin's backyard, complete with tons of space to run around, kids to play with (most of them are 2 years old), and lots of abandoned toys that he enjoys.  It is really nice because that is also the view from the kitchen, so I can make dinner and do dishes while he is outside playing!  You can't really see our patio, but it's there (full of empty boxes waiting to be broken down and recycled).  If you look at the neighbor's patio, you can see the storage "shed".  It is only half that size though, because our water heater (which we don't share with anyone!) is on one half of it.  It is the perfect size for some boxes and my huge jogging stroller though.

We live in a town home style apartment on campus.  It is really nice to only have neighbors to the side instead of above or below us.  There is a lot of storage space (I really like the under stairs closet, and the outside "shed").

We really like it here.  It is kind of exciting to be on our own little adventure by ourselves.  I've never really been anywhere other than Idaho and Utah (with a few short vacations here and there), so it is neat to experience different dynamics.
