Last week, my brother Charlie and his wife Heidi came to visit for a few days. Charlie got accepted to UCI's chemistry program, so he was checking out the campus. We're crossing our fingers! He has a couple more schools to visit before he makes his decision next month. We were lucky to have them here for Rebecca's blessing.
Her blessing was beautiful! I didn't get to hear it in church because it was REALLY loud, and the microphone wasn't close to Brian's mouth. I was really upset about it, but his friend recorded it on his phone. I could barely hear it on the recording, but I was able to write it down. My favorite part of the blessing was that Brian said "We bless you that your faith can be strong, that you may learn the gospel and make it a deep part of your identity." It was just a quiet day. We went to church like normal, came home like normal, etc, but it was just a special day.
My parents are coming to visit the end of this week! Rebecca came 2 weeks early, and then Jolene (my mother-in-law) came 2 weeks later, so I felt like it would be more fun for my mom and dad to come just for a fun visit when my dad has spring break. That way, he can meet Rebecca too!
I had really bad back pain this pregnancy, and it got much worse right after Rebecca was born, so that's been kind of hard for me. Every time I tried to exercise, the pain got worse, which makes me upset because I have felt ready to exercise and recovered from the pregnancy since 4 weeks postpartum! I just feel so much better in so many ways when I can exercise. I decided to try swimming since it's so low impact. I went the other day, and plan on going more now. It feels so nice to exercise and to get tired from it!
Calvin has been enjoying cars a lot! He has a lot of them now, and they are good incentives to keep his underwear dry. We bought Cars, the movie and he watches it every day. Overall, he is adjusting well to Rebecca. He has become a very whiney kid since she was born (don't know if that's his age, or the baby), but he's learning how to deal with his frustrations. He says some funny things like pecalin for pelican, and lighqueen matqueen. Last night he had explosive diarrhea, said he had a Rebecca poop, and then laughed until he couldn't breathe.
Rebecca is getting big! I never thought I'd have a chubby baby (since Calvin was so tiny). She's been much more alert, and is giving us more smiles. Last night she slept for 7 1/2 hours straight. I feel so refreshed today! We've been having her sleep in the hallway, so last night was a good night to have her sleep in Calvin's room!
